St. Louis Missouri at Sunset
The distinctive Gateway Arch sits on the edge of the Mississippi River on the east side of down town St. Louis. This national monument signifies that St. Louis was the “Gateway to the west” in the early pioneer days. The place where so may came by boat, train, foot and wagons to buy provisions and join the wagon trains that headed west to the new wild western territories of the United States. The Arch stands as a 630 foot stainless steel monument to these early settlers.
I took this one from 15 miles out in the country with a Nikon D40X and a Nikon 300mm VR zoom lens.
