A Visit to the Butterfly House In St. Louis Missouri

This Butterfly Art Sculpture sits in front of the Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House which can be found in Faust County Park in West St. Louis County, Missouri USA. It is open to the public from Memorial Day to Labor day each year. General Admission is $6, Senior Citizens $4.50, children 3-12 $4

The Butterfly House is a greenhouse type controlled environment with 80 different species of Butterflies flying freely all around you. It is very warm and humid but a riot of colors and shapes.

These Great Mormon butterflies are large butterflies belonging to the Swallowtail family and are found in many areas of Asia. They hover near these red flowers, feeding on the nectar. I found that taking images of butterflies in flight is much harder than hummingbirds ☺
